Global fashion shopping platform Lyst released its annual Year in Fashion report, which summarized the results of the fashion industry for 2021 and analyzed top trends and the most popular fashion collaborations that have attracted the attention of users over the past 12 months.
For example, Lyst note that digital fashion, NFT technologies for creating virtual looks, as well as the release of new collections in digital format and the collaboration with video games have become one of the key trends in 2021. Conscious consumption is still one of the key trends. There is a growing demand for items made from sustainable fabrics. For example, the demand for vegan leather products increased by 178%, while the number of requests for products with vegetable colors increased by 131% compared to the previous year.
Genderfluid fashion continues to rise. For example, when the rapper Lil Nas X appeared on the Jimmy Fallon show in a Louis Vuitton skirt, the demand for this model increased by 138%. Searches for pearl necklaces also increased after Justin Bieber, Bad Bunny and A $ AP Rocky were spotted wearing it. Another trend was the return of the 2000s fashion.
After analyzing the data, the authors of the report concluded that fashion collaborations between brands continue to attract buyers' attention. So, the most powerful collaboration was the Yeezy x Gap joint collection - interest in both brands has grown by more than 320%. The collaboration of the singer Beyoncé with the sports giant adidas - Ivy Park x adidas and the joint collection of Rodeo attracted no less attention. The North Face and Gucci turned out to be in the third place.
