Sarah Burton, creative director of Alexander McQueen, and music video director Sophie Muller, presented a new collection of the famous brand in Brooklyn. The show was held in a hangar, most of which was occupied by heaps of earth. Models melancholycally paraded between the guests seated at the edges of these gloomy elevations. Despite the promise of the organizers to make the show of the year and cheer up the fans of the brand, the show was rather boring.
The collection was based on multi-layered asymmetrical dresses, trouser suits with slits, trench coats and corset dresses.
In the new Fall/Winter 22 season, Alexander McQueen invites us to get dressed in a rebellious rocker spirit, nostalgic for long time about leather jackets and trousers with zippers and studs. McQueen uses graffiti-style figures of people and flowers as prints, which go well with strict jackets and trousers. The collection was inspired by a popular trend - clothes that are made from the skin of mushrooms, hence the name of the Mycelium collection. When creating such leather, a specially grown mycelium is used, which replaces natural leather. True, the brand did not use the mushroom skin itself, but sewed a lot of costumes from recycled and biolaser-resistant fabrics.

The line of evening gowns was presented by puffy organza dresses with shiny beaded embroidery and perfectly tailored trouser suits. The collection also has a place for bright sweaters with the mushroom prints, decorated with a long fringe.

The collection is executed in a black-and-white palette with a rare appearance of green, yellow and gold.

The show was streamed on Youtube and on the brand's platform.
