The Chanel show was held in Monte Carlo, where the fashion house showed the new Resort 2023 collection. This place turned out to be doubly significant: firstly, it was in Monte Carlo where Gabrielle Chanel came up with her famous fragrance Chanel No. 5, and secondly, on May 29 it will host the Monaco Grand Prix, the Formula One race that inspired most of the looks in the new collection.

Resort 2023 consists of stylish, comfortable jumpsuits imitating the equipment of racers, bags in the form of motorcycle helmets with the “5” logo, motorcycle gloves, baseball caps and, of course, tweed suits in all possible variations.

Leather bomber jackets, Chanel-style checkered windbreakers, and pointe-like shoes inspired by the famous Russian ballet that was founded by Sergei Diaghilev in Monaco, also look cool. The line also includes luxurious cocktail dresses embroidered with sequins, bags with famous Chanel flowers and beach tunics. Creative Director of Chanel Virginie Viard says that when creating the collection she also turned to the work of Karl Lagerfeld and archival models of the fashion house, many models are imbued with grace and elegance. In the front row of the auditorium, Chanel ambassadors were seen: Kristen Stewart, Tilda Swinton, Vanessa Paradis, Caroline de Maigret, Sofia Coppola.

The Chanel Resort 2023 collection will be available on the brand's official website in the coming days.
