One of the main trends of the AW 2020 is a combination of masculinity and femininity: Isabel Marant also bets on this idea in her new collection, presented at the Paris Fashion Week. She was inspired not only by the mix of masculine and elegant silhouettes, but also pastel shades, which are accompanied with abstract prints, details and accessories. Such techniques, as asymmetry, draping and playing with colors, make the new line interesting – every look has a bright accent that attracts attention: a belt with an unusual buckle, high boots or a flowing silhouette.

The autumn-winter 2020 collection includes jackets and coats with wide shoulders, fur vests, knit sweaters with puffed sleeves, straight cut pants, blouses from light fabrics and dresses with a high collar. She was also inspired by the fashion of the 80’s, Isabel Marant plays on contrasts, but doesn’t bring them to the point of absurdity.

A wide shoulder line creates a sense of strength and confidence, while a narrow waist, laced belts add fragility and femininity to looks. But it doesn’t look pretentious and intrusive: the designer gives preference to dresses and skirts of midi length, minimizes cutout on blouses and knitwear and buttons shirts, relying on flowing silhouettes.

The overall palette is strict and minimalistic, but sometimes shades of grey, cream and emerald green are changed with bright blue and red. Turning to the aesthetics of grunge, the designer decorates bags belts and high boots with metallic parts. These boots from thin leather will be extremely trendy next season.
