I wish I was I child again… Every adult of whatever gender, nationality, or profession came across this sad thought at least once in a lifetime. Nostalgia for the most carefree and partly the happiest times often awakens the brightest and warmest memories in our heads, which take us to the world of playgrounds, catch-ups, winged swings, warbling laughter and boundless curiosity. This is the same world that Gucci recreated in its pre-fall 2020 company.
Warm shades of the early fall, bright colors of the playground, and the company of cutest wild animals from the nimble fawn to the fluffy skunk – this is the dreamy world of childhood created by Gucci and captured by the photographer Alasdair McLellan. Models in printed and knit dresses, trench-coats, 70s style suits, and jeans are playing, walking along the lake, lying on the grass, and dancing to "Some Velvet Morning" song by Lee Hazlewood and Nancy Sinatra.
According to Gucci representatives, this company is "an ode to retrieved innocence, a return to the infant world, a call for real engagement with nature and, with that, life." It was dedicated to the celebration of Earth Day.
It is noteworthy that Gucci collaborates with the Lion's Share Fund, a charitable organization that helps vulnerable and almost extinct animals in the wild. The Italian brand is donating part of their funds to charity every time animals appear in their ads.
