Creative director of the Gucci brand Alessandro Michele invited guests to Puglia, Italy to present his new Gucci Resort 2023 cruise collection.
The show, titled "Cosmogony", was inspired by intergalactic worlds and ancient magical myths: the models resembled the robes of stargazers and the outfits of fairy princesses.
The action took place on the day of the Supermoon in the 13th-century castle of Castel del Monte and became an ode to the German philosopher Walter Benjamin. He, according to the designer, was able to put together disparate facts about the stars and build them into a general concept, which is incredibly impressive.
The collection consists of shiny and translucent dresses that complement high boots and gloves, fur-trimmed coats, beaded trouser suits. As conceived by the fashion designer, many of the images sparkled under the light of the moon, as if they were strewn with stars, others had massive glasses in which it was convenient to look at the lunar eclipse, and still others resembled the constellations and the Milky Way. There are references in the line to Indian culture, as well as to national costumes from Central Asia.
