Recently, Kaia Gerber (18) starred in the new Jimmy Choo ad campaign. The collection includes not only the usual ballet flats and pumps, but sneakers with a massive sole. They are called Diamond, because the design of the platform was performed by analogy with a faceted gemstone.
On January 22, it became known that Kaia not only posed for photo shooting, but has created an exclusive capsule collection in collaboration with Jimmy Choo. Gerber designed the line alongside the brand's Creative Director, Sandra Choi. 15 per cent of all of the sales from the collection will be donated to Gerber’s charity of choice, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
“The mission of St Jude has always been closely connected to my family”, Gerber commented. "From the beginning I wanted this collaboration to have a charitable element and I am so grateful that I can support this incredible organization alongside Jimmy Choo. If I were at St. Jude’s, I would hope that there was someone advocating for me in the position that I’m in”, she explained. “I try and do that for those kids and give them hope and inspiration.”
When creating her collection, she wanted to focus on comfort and practicality, and created shoes for active women who don't like high heels. To do this, she has studied the anatomical structure of the foot and several types of pads. Kaia also told, that she wanted the capsule collection to have strong 90’s vibes while still including options to wear all day and then into the night.
The exclusive capsule collection, which will become available for purchase starting on February 2, features four different shoe styles: lace-up combat boots, western boots, slingback heels, and a pair of simple slides.
