The Salk Institute for Biological Studies in San Diego hosted the Louis Vuitton Resort 2023 cruise collection show. The show took place at sunset with the ocean in the background, which created a unique atmosphere of mystery and an interesting play of light. Some models looked like characters from the movie "Dune", others looked like the aliens from the future who descended from heaven.

Creative director of the brand Nicolas Ghesquière, as usual, created a unique mix from different eras, combining dresses from the 18th century and futuristic metallic fabrics. Ancient Amazons from Greek mythology, goddesses and aliens appeared on the podium that evening. In the collection we see multi-layered knitwear, chain mail sweaters, leather belt skirts, metallic knight boots and tube scarves.

Ghesquière said that he feels more free than ever in creativity and uses new opportunities to destroy the usual dress code and go beyond the ordinary. As an addition to the images, the fashion designer used metallic glasses and glass jewelry that reflected the setting sun. Some designs featured elements of sportswear design, such as airbrush prints of semi-tops and boxy short skirts, reminiscent of surf suits. Interestingly, model Lauren Wasser, who lost both legs a few years ago, took part in the show. The girl took to the podium in a silver trouser suit with shorts and a long raincoat.
