Yesterday it was revealed that Red Carpet Green Dress (RCGD) launched the RCGD Global Design Contest 2020 in partnership with TENCEL Luxe for young designers all over the world. Every participant will have a great opportunity to win some incredible prizes including monetary award of $1,000, trip to LA to meet the founder of RCGD Suzy Amis Cameron, receive mentorship from couture designer Laura Basci and more. The winners will be selected in late August by an international panel of sustainable fashion experts.

All talented international designers over the age of 21 are welcomed to take part in the contest.  Anyone wishing to enter can submit their application through rcgdglobal.com, from May 12th – July 30th.

According to the RCGD representatives, "supported by the Conscious Fashion Campaign in collaboration with the United Nations Office for Partnerships, the campaign and contest will be directing a percentage of funds raised towards Awaj Foundation in Bangladesh and The Fifth Pillar in Myanmar, providing for disproportionately vulnerable garment workers severely impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic."

Red Carpet Green Dress organization was created by actress and environmental advocate Suzy Amis Cameron to "draw attention to the importance of more sustainable practices in fashion and be part of bringing those solutions to the global market." In 2020, RCGD started to work with the Tencel Luxe factory, and together they produced an eco-couture textile range bringing innovative biodegradable solutions to the fashion industry.

All info about the contest is available on the Red Carpet Green Dress official website.
