After Paul Andrew leaved the post of creative director of Salvatore Ferragamo, the fashion world was looking forward to the new name that would appear in the history of the famous Italian house. And now the leadership finally announced that the vacancy went to the young designer Maximilian Davis.
A London College of Fashion graduate, Maximilian, went through a good school in the fashion world: he collaborated with such brands as Asai, Grace Wales Bonner, Mowalola and Supriya Lele. Two years ago, he founded his own brand Maximilian and made it to the semi-finals of the LVMH Prize 2022. But the fashion designer refused to continue participating in the competition, because of receiving an offer to become the creative director of Salvatore Ferragamo. Colleagues call Davis one of the most notable talents of the current generation, with a powerful aesthetic and a high level of performance. Maximilian’s collections are always elegant, seductive and refined. His clothes were worn by Rihanna and A$AP Rocky, Dua Lipa and Kylie Jenner.
“I am grateful for the opportunity to be part of the Salvatore Ferragamo professional team, inspired by the rich and deep heritage of the house,” Davis said of his appointment. “I impatiently wait to show my vision of Italian fashion based on high quality codes and modern technologies.”
