TIME magazine has released its annual list of the 100 most influential companies shaping the future of the world. As it was expected, the list included such giants as Apple, Amazon, Netflix, Ford, Disney, Microsoft and Meta. Other tech brands include Kim Kardashian's shapewear brand SKIMS, US outerwear retailer Patagonia, and celebrity-loved fashion house Balenciaga.
In an explanation of this choice, TIME said that the creative director of Balenciaga, Georgian designer Demna Gvasalia sets the tone for the fashion era and constantly breaks conventions, moving towards progress. So, he was one of the first to hold fashion shows for the brand in the animated series "The Simpsons" and in virtual reality, creating clothes for the computer game Fortnite.
Also on the TIME list are the NFT trading platform Opensea, the Sandbox metaverse, the pharmaceutical company Pfizer, the Brazilian e-bank Nubank, the Walmart retail chain, the social ctm Tiktok, Impossible Foods, a fake meat maker, Curaleaf, a medical cannabis maker, and many others.
The full list of TIME can be viewed on the official website of the magazine.
