The global shopping platform Lyst has released the results of its traditional fashion industry survey from the past three months. In the report, experts talked about key trends, top purchases and the most popular brands in the Q2 of 2021.

So, in the ranking, Gucci is still the industry’s house of choice. Nike and Dior, which took second and third places in the last quarter, respectively, switched places in the second quarter: now the French fashion house is in second place, and the sports giant closes the top three. They were followed by Louis Vuitton, Prada, Balenciaga, Moncler, Bottega Beneta, Saint Laurent. Thus, consumer tastes haven’t changed much since the beginning of the year. Of the “newcomers” in the top ten, only Versace - the fashion house displaced the Off-White brand from the tenth line. Virgil Abloh's brand is now ranked 13th.

White Nike Air Force sneakers ranked first among the season's most coveted purchases, followed by the mini Jodie Bottega Veneta bag. In third place is the most important summer headdress - the Jacquemus panama. The top five are closed by Prada denim top and Marine Serre leggings. On the men's shopping list, the Adidas YEEZY flip flops took first place, followed by Off-White sunglasses and Prada sneakers.

According to the Lyst’s latest report, Gen Z - people born after 1996 - have become the driving force behind the development of the fashion industry. In turn, they are influenced by celebrities and influencers.

“With more events and performances taking place, celebrities and influencers were also a key force for driving demand. Among the quarter’s hottest products are The Attico’s zebra print bikini, worn by Hailey Bieber and Dua Lipa; Rodarte’s daisy print dress, seen on Kendall Jenner and Selena Gomez; and Marine Serre and Mugler’s bodycon pieces, worn by Cardi B, Kylie Jenner and Doja Cat,” commented the authors of the report.
