Rough boots and "Mary Jane" and slouchy shoes – what else are we going to wear this spring?

Cowboy boots and Cossacks

Rough leather shoes are a trend, that has moved unnoticeably from last season to spring/summer. For conservatives, classic grunge-style rough shoes in grunge style are a real gift. These shoes look perfect with light romantic dresses, leather jackets and delicate blouses. This season, the trend is laconic models, boots in military style, like Christian Dior’s, and printed Cossacks, like from the Prabal Gurung show. An interesting option was offered by the Alexander McQueen at the spring-summer 2020 fashion show: boots with a buckle around the ankle. This season, designers advise to look for shoes with lots of metal rivets, buttons, buckles that serve as a decorative ornament.

High Boots

Saint Laurent, Givenchy, Celine offer to wear high leather boots in a duet with a midi skirt or loose Bermuda shorts. This model of shoes in combination with long clothing visually lengthens the silhouette: this happens due to the lack of a gap between a skirt and boots. High boots can be monochrome (caramel color is on-trend), or with unusual prints from Paco Rabanne spring-summer 2020 collection. A stable heel, which this season has been preferred by almost all designers, will help you "stand your ground" in the spring.

Slouchy Boots

Slouchy boots is an obvious greetings from the 80’s. It was in those years, when slouchy boots were at the peak of popularity. This season, monochromatic and multi-colored, embroidered with crystals, metal parts, or decorated with embroidery, slouchy boots received a new life. A model made of bright multi-colored leather or nude velvet look not only stylish, but also modern. Slouchy boots can be used in spring and summer – take an example from the Italians: they combine this model with long dresses, shorts and skinny jeans.

"Mary Jane" Shoes

For the first time such shoes appeared in an English comic book - the protagonist Mary Jane wore this model. However, they found their success thanks to Twiggy in the 60’s. In the 90’s, it was impossible to imagine grunge diva Courtney Love without "Mary Jane" shoes. By the way, Carrie Bradshaw was also crazy about "Mary Jane" shoes. In 2020, the improved model of the shoes again broke fashionista’s hearts: cute "Mary Jane" shoes clearly grown up in the season of spring-summer 2020 – in the collections of Carolina Herrera and Maison Martin Margiela, classic shoes are high-heeled.

Shoes and flats with a pointed toe

In the spring 2020, after a break of several years, this shoe model returns not only to the catwalks, but in everyday life. So, Gucci managed to combine several season's trends in one model of ballet flats: pointed toe, chains and metal buckles – indeed, there is not much beauty.

Loafers

In the spring 2020, loafers experienced the rebirth - models with massive heels – this kind of shoes is recommended by Fendi, Loewe and Рrada. Just look at a bright model with an open heel – a kind of hybrid of loafers with mules. With the approach of warm days, these shoes are ready not only to conquer the catwalks, but also to break into everyday life. Jeans and a t-shirt are ideal companions of loafers. However, this season, stylists advise to combine them with dresses and skirts of midi length. Decorated with buckles, bows and metal details, loafers are once again eager to win the palm this spring.

Platform and heels

Chunky platform hasn't gone out of fashion for several seasons, but now there is another trend - the heel. At first glance, it seems that we are back to 2000, but the interpreted "new old trend" looks quite modern. Vera Wang presented a rigorous model of classic shoes in black and Dries Van Noten decided to "fool around": bright colors and floral prints in the upcoming season will clearly cheer you up.

Designers obviously know what women do want: everyone is tired of recognizable details, so the deformed heels came to forefront. Beveled, curved, and even resembling the back of the sofa. Let’s inspire by the Marc Jacobs, Amina Muaddi and Moschino shows.

Animalistic print

It seems, that this spring, animalistic print caught up with us not only in clothing, but also in footwear. Boots and shoes with a Zebra print look no less provocative than Python boots. Tiger ankle boots with a substantial platform and heel from Dries Van Noten are able to make love them.

Square toe

"Don’t smooth corners" is the fashion motto of spring 2020: this season, a model with a square toe is more relevant than ever. Sandals, shoes and ankle boots - stylish shoes with a square toe perfectly match with the oversized clothes and business suits. And such brands as Preen by Thornton Bregazzi and Proenza Schouler invite to wear square-toed shoes with skirts and dresses made of light, airy fabrics.
