Venice, Vivaldi and a Rainbow: Dolce & Gabbana Alta Moda Show Took Place

On the evening of August 29, Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana presented their latest Alta Moda collection in the Piazza San Marco, in Venice. This show became part of the brand's Grand Tour: a few days earlier, in other iconic locations in the city, t The duo behind the beloved luxury fashion house have announced that they will be back with their Alta Moda, Alta Sartoria, Alta Gioielleria and Alta Orologeria Collections next month, presenting a range of exclusive couture looks, high jewellery and timepieces to pay homage to Italian craftsmanship.

In creating looks, the designers worked together with the masters of Venetian manufactories, studying the techniques and motives traditional for the local culture. The new collection includes exquisite evening dresses decorated with embroidery with gold threads, multi-colored crystals, as well as prints depicting the sights of Venice, brocade jackets, bright cocktail dresses with voluminous floral appliqué, silk capes, sequin suits, blouses with wing sleeves, skirts with flounces and many other things. Models, including the 17-year-old daughter of Heidi Klum Leni, took to the podium under the works of Antonio Vivaldi. Just as the designers ran down the runway to a damp standing ovation, the weather turned bad and part of the show took place in heavy rain, but after it a bright rainbow appeared in the sky.
