The husband of British fashion designer Stella McCartney and former director of Wallpaper magazine, Alasdhair Willis, has taken over as the chief creative officer for the Adidas sports brand and its three founding labels - Originals, Performance and Sportswear.
Back in 2005, Willis led the collaboration between Adidas and Stella McCartney and still has been playing a major role in its further development and growth. Adidas said that Alasdhair gained a special understanding of the desires of the target audience and the concept of the brand by working on the most advanced projects, including the development of the most innovative materials in the history of Adidas. The company said Willis' creative, strategic and leadership skills, acquired while working on Wallpaper Magazine and British menswear brand Hunter, made him an ideal candidate for this position.
Alasdhair Willis also commented on his appointment: “Such a position is a huge privilege. It is impossible to measure the power and influence with which the brand influences sports culture in the world. I welcome the opportunity to help Adidas enter in a new era of design and leadership and take the team to the next level.”
