"Going Places" is the name given to the first Kenzo fall-winter 2020 collection by Felipe Oliveira Baptista, dedicated to "the wanderers of life." The Portuguese designer, who took over as Creative Director for Kenzo in July 2019, is renowned for combining conceptual functionality with sensual aesthetics. Staying true to himself, he demonstrated this approach in the new collection for Kenzo.
Taking such a brand's DNA codes as freedom and movement as a basis, Felipe Oliveira Baptista created the perfect transformable wardrobe: reversible monochrome / printed coats, cocoon-like-dresses that can be expanded with their armature of zippers, parkas, and trench coats with multiple fasteners and detachable parts, and many others. The main accessories of the collection are headgear - sports bucket hats and caps to match the look, as well as wide-brimmed woolen hats worn over a scarf wrapped around the head.
Besides, the designer did not forget to pay tribute to nature - the collection palette includes both natural colors - black, light gray, wine, burgundy, intensive blue and green, etc. - and camouflage or floral prints. Some garments have a new interpretation of the Kenzo signature tiger head, inspired by the works of Lisbon neo-realist artist Julio Pomar.
