In the SS 2020 season, Max Mara reflect on what a modern female special agent might look like. To do this, the fashion house's creative director Ian Griffiths experiments with masculine silhouettes, making them look more elegant and sophisticated. The collection includes monochrome three-piece suits with Bermuda shorts and pipe pants, elongated shirts, ties, knee-high socks and satin slip-dress.
The source of inspiration is easy to understand. In March 2020, a new James Bond film will come out with women as the main characters. With this collection, Max Mara decided to show their vision of how spies should dress when performing secret missions. The show, which was held at Milan fashion Week, had its own chronology: within a few minutes of the show, the audience learned the story of a girl who works on important state orders in the morning, and then goes to a party.
At first, she walks through the gloomy corridors of official organizations in a simply grey suit, then runs the job on a tropical island in Bermuda shorts, and in the evening goes, she goes to a formal reception in a gown. There are clothes for any occasion in her wardrobe: she can easily get lost in the crowd or become the star of the party. Collection’s colors repeat the brand’s traditional shades of grey, beige, blue, soft pink and lemon.
Max Mara believe that the secret to success of a modern girl is not in strength but, in intelligence. The Safari style features can be traced through the entire collection, which find a response in jackets with patch pockets, things in sand shades and a simple cut. A midi skirt, a slip-dress and light fabric with polka-dot and Paisley prints add femininity and romance. The main accessory is a small but roomy bag, where you can easily put everything you need – from bright red lipstick to pumps.
