For a month all fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe and especially Spider-Man superhero closely watched the conflict between the Marvel Studios and Sony, which owns the rights to the character.
Previously Sony wanted to break the contract with Marvel, since the latter demanded 50% of the proceeds from the films about the Spider-Man. Prior to this, Marvel in exchange for the right to use the hero, transferred Sony 100% of the profit from solo films about Spidey, leaving only the proceeds from the sale of related products.
However, at the weekend it became known that the studios finally managed to resolve the financial disagreements and agree on the return of Spider-Man to the MCU. Marvel was able to agree on a 25% profit from solo films about Spider-Man. The details of the transaction were not disclosed, but loyal fans suggested that in exchange for Spider-Man, Marvel also agreed to accept another Sony character, Venom in the ranks of MCU superheroes.
Fans emotionally reacted to the return of their beloved hero to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Tom Holland joined the glee, sharing an Instagram video with Leonardo DiCaprio from the movie “The Wolf of Wall Street”.
The third film about Spider-Man with Tom Holland will be released in 2021.
