Plus-size blogger Katie Sturino repeats looks of celebrities (but not everyone likes this)

38-year-old Katie Sturino became famous on Instagram thanks to her struggle for plus-size women's rights. According to Katie, fashion brands infringe on the rights of well-rounded women and create clothes only for the perfect slim figure.

In her blog, Sturino not only promotes body positive, but also teaches women to love themselves and their bodies. Katie encourages brands to diversify their size range, as even the largest sizes of clothes don’t always suit plus-size women.

The blogger tries on XL-size clothes from well-known brands and shares photos from the fitting room with subscribers. Despite the fact that the manufacturer indicates the size, designed for overweight women, some of the clothing still don’t fit Katie: the clothes don’t fit well on the Instagram model and, instead of demonstrating the advantages of the figure, emphasizes her shortcomings.

To draw the fashion industry’s attention to this problem, Sturino launched the #MakeMySize flash mob. Under this hashtag, plus-size girls began to share their unsuccessful looks from the fitting rooms and urge designers to consider the features of their figure.

WFC.tv edition has long been watching Katie Sturino’s Instagram activity. By her example, she proves that a woman of any complexion can look beautiful. To justify this, the blogger often repeats celebrities’ looks and shows how to properly wear clothes designed for overweight women.

The activities of such influencers as Katie Sturino don’t go unnoticed.  In recent years, fashion brands have really begun to better understand the needs of women with a non-standard figure. Designers recognize that the concepts of true beauty and ideal proportions of a figure are long outdated, and the fashion industry begins to adapt to new trends. Most well-known brands are actively collaborating with plus-size models such as Ashley Graham and Tess Holliday to meet the demand of more of their customers.

Still, Katie admits that the final victory is still far away. While about 400 thousand Sturino’s fans on Instagram support the model, there are those who condemn her. Recently, there was news that Netizens had harassed a girl after she repeated the Meghan Markle’s look.

“She looks like she ate the Duchess of Sussex and stole her dress”, they wrote in the comments.

“There is a war against the female body in the media and beyond, and we’re making progress, but this comment reminds me to keep acing. No one deserves to be spoken to in this way, either online or in real life. We still have a lot of work to do!”, Katie responded to the news.
