Very sad news for the fashion world: fashion designer Sophia Kokosalaki has died at 48. A few months ago, Sophia was diagnosed with cancer.
During her bright career, Sophia managed to create many memorable collections, but most of all the public fell in love withher famous wedding dresses, in which Kokosalaki skillfully combined fashion trends with elements of Greek antiquity. By this shepaid tribute to her homeland (Sophia came from Athens). Sophia served as creative director of the French fashion house Vionnetfor a little time, she also worked on the creation of premium collections of women's clothing for Diesel brand.
But one of the most striking Kokosalaki’s works was the famous dress designedin the form of sea foam. The Greek designer created it special for the singer Björk. The singer from Iceland wore this stunning outfit at the opening ceremony of the summer Olympic games in 2004. She performed the song "Oceania" and made a splash with her original image.
