Virgil Abloh, founder of Off-White brand and creative director of Louis Vuitton men's line, shared a video announcement of his new collection created in collaboration with IKEA on *******. Previously, the designer has already collaborated with the Swedish brand of home goods and released an exclusive carpet with the inscription "Keep Off". Only a few lucky people, who won the online auction, managed to buy this item -the carpet wasn’t presented on the open market.
From November 1, 2019, IKEA stores will offer a wider range of products designed by Virgil Abloh. Representatives of the company report that despite the high interest in the collaboration, they aren’t going to drive up prices.
The Markerad collection is designed for Millennials who are furnishing their first apartment. It includes carpets with inscriptions in the Off-White corporate style, wall clocks, wooden chairs and tables, cushion covers, bags, stoppers for doors and even a reproduction of Leonardo da Vinci's "Mona Lisa" with LED lighting. Sketches of the first things from the collaboration were presented in the spring of last year. The first products will be sold in stores in the United States, and no word yet on selling in Russia.
Recently, the designer announced that he was leaving the world of high fashion for a short time off. The IKEA collaboration was a challenge for Virgil and an attempt to try his hand in the lifestyle niche. It’s known that soon the designer will launch his brand of jewel Virgil Abloh, and he was inspired by... paper clips.
