Yesterday, the annual CFDA Awards 2020, which is commonly called the "Oscar" in the fashion world, announced the names of the laureates. This year's winners include Kim Jones and Pierpaolo Piccioli.
The Council of Fashion Designers of America, led by Tom Ford, named Kim Jones, who heads the Dior Homme and Fendi, as the best men's designer, and the creative director of Valentino Pierpaolo Piccioli as the best designer of women's collections this year.
In the Best American Designer category, awards went to Pyer Moss founder Kerby Jean-Raymond for the design of menswear and Gabriela Hearst, who heads personal brand Gabriela Hearst for the design of womenswear.
Christopher John Rogers, the founder of the eponymous brand, became the best American Emerging designer of the year. However, this is not the first time Rogers won the competition - last year the Brooklyn-based designer won the 2019 CFDA / Vogue Fashion Fund.
The designer Telfar Clemens received the award for the best accessory design from the collections of his Telfar brand.
