On December 3, it became known that Natacha Ramsay-Levi is leaving the post of Chloé creative director, which she has held since 2017. Yesterday, the brand announced the name of her successor - an American designer and founder of the namesake brand Gabriela Hearst. According to WWD, Gabriela Hearst will show her first collection for Chloé as part of Paris Fashion Week in March 2021.
In November, Chloé announced a transition to a new business model - now, the fashion house will focus on sustainable development. This decision is likely closely related to the appointment of a new creative director. Hearst is known as an eco-activist and supporter of sustainable development. Last week, the designer was recognized by the British Fashion Council's award for eco-initiatives, in particular for the use of recycled cashmere and paper in clothing.
Gabriela Hearst will combine her new position with the post of creative director of the Gabriela Hearst brand that she founded in 2015.
