It's been almost a week since Prince Harry and Meghan Markle made a sensational statement that they plan to abandon their duties as senior members of the Royal family. However, the media continue to speculate about what caused the spouses Sussex to take this step.

Yesterday one of Harry and Meghan’s close friends gave an interview to People magazine, which revealed the real reason for "Megxit". According to the insider, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex were forced to take this decision because of toxic relationships in the Royal family. The source indirectly hinted that due to the behavior of older family members, Meghan and Harry felt ostracised.

“This is not how they wanted to handle this but Meghan and Harry's hand was forced,' the magazine quoted a friend as saying yesterday”,– said the insider. The magazine also gave another mixed quote of a close friend of the spouses Sussex: “There is so much bad blood in that family – it's toxic.

The friend gives credence to the claim that Harry was offended by his elder brother Prince William warning him about moving too fast in his relationship with actress Meghan.

They say the duchess was also hurt by 'negative press' and what she considered was her 'outsider status as a bi-racial American'.

The source added: “Meghan and Harry didn't feel they got enough comfort or solace from them [the royals].”

Earlier, Queen Elizabeth II issued a statement that she supported Meghan and Harry’s decision, and instructed the advisors to develop options for further cooperation between the Royal family and spouses Sussex. Meanwhile, a number of sources says that Meghan and Harry’s actions caused anger and disappointment of the family, which only increased the gap between them.
