Incident at the 94th Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences Academy Awards. already covered all the world's media. During a performance by comedian Chris Rock, Will Smith came up on stage and loudly slapped him in the face. The actor did not like the joke about the hairstyle of his wife, who suffers from hair loss (alopecia).

Will Smith won an Oscar for best actor in the drama King Richard, but after a fight on stage, the organizers of the ceremony started talking about depriving him of the award. Smith's behavior was condemned by many fans and colleagues, as well as the film academy, saying that it had begun an official review of the actor's behavior. The comedian, who received a slap in the face, has declined to press charges over the incident.

Later that evening, Smith issued a public apology to Chris Rock in a blog post:

“Violence in all of its forms is poisonous and destructive. My behavior at last night's Academy Awards was unacceptable and inexcusable. Jokes at my expense are a part of the job, but a joke about Jada's medical condition was too much for me to bear and I reacted emotionally.

I would like to publicly apologize to you, Chris. I was out of line and I was wrong. I am embarrassed and my actions were not indicative of the man I want to be. There is no place for violence in a world of love and kindness.

I would also like to apologize to the Academy, the producers of the show, all the attendees and everyone watching around the world. I would like to apologize to the Williams Family and my King Richard Family. I deeply regret that my behavior has stained what has been an otherwise gorgeous journey for all of us.

I am a work in progress."

Whether the actor will be able to make amends with the leadership of the film award and not lose the coveted award, time will tell. Will turned off comments under his post so as not to provoke negativity and quarrels among fans.
