A young designer from Canada, Olivia Rubens, presented a collection of knitwear "PHOTOSYNTHESIZE", which is essentially a living organism and ... releases oxygen. As conceived by the fashion designer, the collrction consists of materials such as ethical alpaca, tencel, organic wool and linen. These fabrics are combined with handmade vintage lace and also clean up the environment.

London College of Fashion that Rubens graduated from drew inspiration from 18th-century fashion and rococo aesthetics to create her knitwear. Her clothing, created in collaboration with design and microbiology research company Post Carbon Lab, literally breathes like plants, releasing oxygen and absorbing carbon dioxide. This, according to the fashion designer, is her contribution to climate conservation.

“By caring for these photosynthetic garments like plants, we hope people learn to care more about nature,” Rubens says.
