While most celebrities donned outfits from new collections for the Oscars red carpets and traditional after-parties, Margot Robbie and Kim Kardashian set an example of conscious consumption.
This year, instead of shocking “naked” dresses, Kim Kardashian preferred the vintage long Alexander McQueen “Oyster dress”, that was created for the designer's spring/summer 2003 collection. A dress with a mermaid-style corset emphasized Kim's stunning figure, and thanks to the unusual draping, the outfit looked very interesting and resembled soft cotton. The dress was paired with a dark glowy makeup look, and a wet hair look.
Margot Robbie hit the red carpet in a magnificent a Chanel gown from the house's spring/summer 1994 collection. The stunning gown featured a pearl-adorned pendant placed front and center and two detached sleeves that scream dinner-party chic.
With their choice of outfits, Kim and Margot paid tribute to the decision of the Academy to make the Oscars ceremony more environmentally friendly.
