This morning Fendi announced that Kim Jones had been appointed artistic director of Fendi's women's collections. The young designer, who currently takes the position of Dior Homme creative director, will replace legendary Karl Lagerfeld. A worthy candidate was found a year after the death of the maestro. Jones will be responsible for a ready-to-wear line as well as couture and fur collections.
"I would like to profoundly thank Monsieur Arnault, Pietro Beccari, Serge Brunschwig and Silvia Venturini Fendi for this incredible opportunity," Jones commented on his appointment. "Working across two such prestigious houses is a true honor as a designer and ton be able to join the house of Fendi as well as continuing my work at Dior Men's is a huge privilege."
The designer will show his first collection for Fendi in February at Milan Fashion Week.
