The truly sad news became known yesterday - the Met Gala 2020 was officially canceled. This decision was made by the representatives of The Metropolitan Museum of Art to save money for more humane purposes. They explained that it would be not right to make significant investments in entertainment during this difficult time while the healthcare sector is experiencing a severe financial crisis and needs help.
Usually being held on the first Monday in May, this biggest fashion event aims to raise funds for the Costume Institute and attract all celebrities, brands, and famous guests to show their chic sumptuous outfits.
This year the theme was supposed to be "About Time: Fashion and Duration" to complement the museum's exhibit on the same topic.
Anyway, the like-named exhibition, which was supposed to open on May 4, will take place from October 29 to February 7. Besides, the Metropolitan Museum is going to open its doors to visitors after quarantine ends in mid-August.
