Tom Ford, who has served as Chair of the American Council of Fashion Designers since March 2019, spoke about the upcoming changes to New York Fashion Week. It will now be called the American Collections Calendar. According to it, brands will be able to show their new collections in any city of the world on dates convenient for them, conducting online broadcasts of the show on a special digital platform.

"While the CFDA will continue to encourage American designers to show in New York during New York Fashion Week, we recognize the need for some to broaden their global visibility. In the past few years, many of our members have chosen to show in Europe, Asia, and other key markets and many cases off-calendar. The events of the past year have only highlighted the need for flexibility within the fashion system," Ford noted in his official letter.
