WWD has published an interview with Andrea Grilli, a chief executive officer of New Guards Group that includes such brands as Off-White, Palm Angels, Ambush, Alanui, Opening Ceremony, Heron Preston, and others. Grilli said that all brands of the holding were going to supply their collections to stores following the season.
It also became known about Off-White's plans to skip fashion week in September; the spring-summer 2021 collection will be presented in a new format in January, and will go on sale in February 2021. According to the CEO of New Guards Group, the company wants to minimize the gap between presentation and distributing the collection to stores while maintaining the quality of clothes. Grilli also explained that the schedule under which new collections appear in stores a few months after the fashion shows does not correspond to the real needs of customers. That is why it is necessary to create a new supply calendar that will attract the clients' attention.
In addition to Off-White, Dries Van Noten, Saint Laurent, Gucci, Valentino, and many other brands and retailers have already spoken about the need to revise the calendar of supplies, discounts, and fashion shows.
